ABOUT YELAPA
Yelapa is a rare and dreamy find. One of the few remaining locally owned villages in the world, Yelapa takes pride in its “untouched” nature. Free of cars, roads and ATMS, this quaint and charming destination has become an oasis for those seeking reprieve from the hustle and bustle of both city and suburb life. With sandy beaches, lush jungle, delicious food, and delightful locals, the opportunities to revel in the bare necessities are endless. Not only that, but Yelapa has a way of leading one back to what is meaningful, life enhancing, and true for the soul. It is said that "the scariest thing you will find in Yelapa is yourself!"
ACCESSIBILITY
Yelapa feels like a island with 95% of its incoming and outgoing transportation happenning via boat and water taxis. It is free of cars and paved roads, which adds to its charm and uniqueness and that also makes it a more physically mobile place to be. It is about a quarter mile to the town pueblo from Casa Isabel and about a mile and a half from Casa Isabel to the main beach. Most walking will be on cobblestone streets, dirt paths, and on stairs (that aren't always smooth or even). Most night-wallking requires flashlights or headlamps.
RETREAT LOCATION: Casa Isabel
The retreat will be held at the enchanting Casa Isabel, a lovely sustainable living villa situated beneath a lush jungle canopy on the hillside--close to the ocean and surrounded by the beauties of nature.
Each room offers:
- Sustainable, artful construction
- an ocean/water view
- Well-equipped kitchen
- Filtered drinking water
- Coffee
- Hot shower
- Shower Towels (BYO soap & shampoo)
- Flush pee-toilet
- Composting pooper (except Nook & Cool Corner)
- Fans and mosquito nets
- Hammocks and lounge chairs
- Lock boxes
- Wi-Fi

PRIVATE CASITA
Most of Casa Isabel's housing options are Private Casitas. Meaning that they are self-contained "little houses," equipped with private bathrooms and kitchens. The private casistas are all unique and vary in style, artistic design, and view. All of them (except "the Nook") have either a queen or king size bed. Some of these beds are hanging beds (Passion Palace and Beach house). In addition, some of the casitas also have twin sofas that can easily be another bed. Private Casitas are great options for people who are happy to share a bed and/or are willing to utilize the twin sofa as another sleeping arrangement.
SHARED CASITA
A shared casista is "self-contained little house" that has more than one queen or king size bed and that (more or less) has separate rooms. There are two Shared Casita options at Casa Isabel: Casa Jade and Casa Annie's.
Casa Jade has 2 queen beds, 1 king bed, and 1 twin bed
Casa Annies has 2 queen beds and 1 twin bed
*price adjustments may be made for people intending to share beds.

YOUR HOSTS: KRYSTAL & DESIREE
KRYSTAL CONNIRY
Krystal believes in the power of presence and loves to witness people becoming more connected to themselves in an authentic and healing way. She is a practicing Yoga Teacher, Sound Therapist, and Healing Arts Enthusiast. She holds a Master's Degree in Conflict Resolution from PSU and enjoys learning why people and groups do the things they do and how to make the world a more peaceful and just place. Yoga continues to be a life-changing journey of surrender and transformation for her and she loves to share this gift with the world.
Krystal received her 200 YTT with Corepower Yoga in 2017 and became certified in Restorative Yoga and Yoga Sculpt shortly after. She has been teaching solidly ever since and is currently leading yoga and wellness retreats in Yelapa, Mexico. She finds inspiration from various yoga modalities and healing practices including Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Hot Yoga, Iyengar, Yoga Nidra, and others. This is reflected in her classes, which are approachable and lighthearted, while holding space for Mystery and the connection to one's more awakened self. It is an honor for her to be able to share something so dear to her heart and to encourage others on their path as they awaken into their own clarity and brilliance.
Off the mat Krystal loves to hike, swim, run, dance, read, and eat good food. She enjoys writing and reading words that invoke change and greater understanding. She loves animals and is a proud dog mom of Lola and Hannah.
DESIREE BARZAN
"Yoga became a saving grace to me after a bad car accident. Suffering physically and emotionally for many years. I was always attracted to yoga but the fear of not being enough held me back for so long. Dipping my baby yoga toe in the spring of 2013 I went to rainbow kids yoga and felt a deep deep love for the practice. And so did the training. 200hr. Buti yoga. Aqua yoga, Paddleboard yoga, and very personal to me as a Military veteran; Trauma informed veterans yoga training. Now I understand why they say practice. My journey is to be a helper to those that desire to heal and to learn. To practice as a community and heal through movement. I made a soul purpose to be a helper and this sacred space of Mexico has healed me tremendously and allowed me to get even deeper into my journey."
We are so excited to be offering this retreat for the second time!! Message me for more details.
In gratitude!
Krystal and Desiree
