Cupping Therapy

Hijama, also known as cupping therapy, is a traditional healing practice that involves creating a vacuum on the skin's surface by placing cups on specific points of the body. The cups may be made of different materials, including glass, plastic, or bamboo, and the practitioner may use heat or suction to create the vacuum.

Cupping Therapy

The therapy is believed to promote blood flow, relieve muscle tension, and stimulate the immune system. It has been used to treat a variety of conditions, including pain, inflammation, respiratory problems, and digestive issues. Hijama is also said to have a detoxifying effect, as it can draw toxins and impurities out of the body. Some practitioners also believe that hijama can have psychological benefits, such as reducing stress and anxiety, and improving mood.

Our Hijama sessions typically last around 60 minutes and involves several steps to provide a comprehensive treatment.

Here is a brief overview of a Hijama session with pre and post-treatment instructions:

Pre-Treatment Instructions: Before the session, the practitioner (Tasneem) will provide specific instructions to ensure optimal results and safety. These instructions may include avoiding heavy meals, staying hydrated, and refraining from caffeine or alcohol consumption.

Consultation: At the beginning of the session, the client will receive a consultation to discuss medical history, current health concerns, and goals for the treatment. This helps to understand your specific needs and tailor the session accordingly.

Massage/Manipulation: The practitioner may start the session with a gentle massage or manipulation of the affected area or areas to relax the muscles, increase blood circulation, and prepare the body for cupping therapy.

Hot Rock Therapy: Hot rock therapy involves placing heated stones on specific points of the body. The heat from the stones helps to further relax the muscles and promote a sense of calm and well-being.

Energy Clearing: Some practitioners incorporate energy clearing techniques, such as Reiki or other energy healing modalities, to balance the body's energy and enhance the overall healing experience.

Cupping (Hijamah) Treatment: Both dry and wet cupping techniques may be utilized during the session. Dry cupping involves creating a vacuum by placing cups on the skin's surface without making incisions. Wet cupping, on the other hand, involves making small incisions on the skin before applying the cups to allow controlled bleeding. This is believed to draw out toxins and promote healing.

Post-Treatment Instructions: After the cupping treatment, the practitioner will provide you with post-treatment instructions. These may include recommendations to keep the cupping sites clean, avoid strenuous activities or exposure to extreme temperatures, drink plenty of water, and follow any additional guidelines specific to your condition.

In Addition...
Cupping paired with excess weight:
When fat causes cellulite, over time, it can harden under the form of lumps beneath your skin, and cannot be removed by just a massage. Our cupping therapy promotes weight loss and full-body toning by stimulating acu-points and running them along the lymphatic lines. These special acu-points provide your circulatory system with the energy required to metabolize body fat, including the fat in your problem areas and the fat around your internal organs. A more efficient circulation can facilitate the removal of toxins and excess water that are causing or increasing your weight problems. Furthermore, the suction created helps to reach fat located in the deeper level, and separate it from the fibres. Once ruptured, it will be liquified and all its waste will be flushed out through the lymphatic system.
